RedCloth is a library that converts specially formatted text documents (in a formatting known as Textile) into valid HTML. In many ways it s similar to the BlueCloth library featured earlier in this chapter. The reasoning behind languages such as Textile is that most users prefer to write their documents in a clean format, rather than be forced to use HTML tags everywhere and create documents that don t read well as plain text.
